Brazilian businessperson Duda Melzer has finally become the latest Chairman of one of Brazil’s top media companies, the RBS Group, after spending a number of years working his way through different departments at the company. Born Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer, but better known by his nickname of Duda, the new RBS Chairman has found himself leading the company at a time when new media and digital content are changing the way the media industry operates.
There are many reasons why Duda Melzer was the perfect choice to take control of RBS from his uncle, Nelson Pacheco Sirotsky, in 2016 after more than a decade working in senior positions at the media group. Melzer is the third generation of the family to take control of the RBS Group after it was founded in 1957 by Duda’s grandfather, Mauricio Sirotsky Sobrinho; Duda has worked hard to make sure he is in the prime position to continue the legacy and success the Sirotsky family have brought to the RBS Group.
Melzer has been looking for new and innovative ways of leading the RBS Group over the course of the last few years, which has included the search for knowledge that has taken the Harvard alumni across the world. Melzer has become a regular visitor to events taking place around the world where top executives and academics share their knowledge about how best to achieve lasting business success for the future.
