Dr Clay B. Siegall is the collaborative founder of a leading American company that is dedicated to medical research – Seattle Genetics. Dr Clay Siegall has assumed the responsibilities of President, Chairman of the Boards, and Chief Executive Officer of Seattle Genetics. The company works in the fields of cancer research, development of medication, and therapy strategies to alleviate the suffering of the patients.
Seattle Genetics has a large team of medical and research experts that have developed the medication ADCETRIS®. The first ingredient of the drug is brentuximab vedotin. ADCETRIS® was approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States of America in 2011. Today, the drug is available in more than sixty countries all around the globe. It is also the first antibody-drug conjugates. An ongoing project emerged from that – Seattle Genetics is creating a pipeline of ADCs with the purpose of treating cancer. Dr Clay B. Siegall holds more than ten patents and has written and published more than 70 articles and other publications.
Dr Clay B. Siegall received his education from the University of Maryland from which he graduated with a B. S. in Zoology. He also attended the George Washington University from which he earned his Ph. D. in Genetics. Dr Clay Siegall started his career at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute. He was a part of the research institute from 1991 to 1997. After that, he joined the National Cancer Institute and furthered his research against cancer. He has also worked at the National Institutes of Health starting 1988 and moving on in 1991. In 1998, Dr Clay B. Siegall founded his company Seattle Genetics.
Currently, Dr. Siegall is a valued member of the Boards of Directors of Alder BioPharmaceuticals, Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical, as well as Washington Roundtable. Over the course of his highly successful medical and business career, Dr Clay Siegall has earned many awards. In 3013 he received the recognition of this one of the academic institutes he studied at – The University of Maryland. Dr Clay Siegall was named Alumnus of the Year for Computer, Math and Natural Sciences.
